With the release of cameras like the EOS R7, Canon has shown they are dedicated to building their APS-C mirrorless platform alongside their well-established full frame line. If you are shooting with such a camera and looking for a kit lens for shooting a variety of scenarios, check out this fantastic video review that compares two good options.

Coming to you from Christopher Frost, this helpful video review compares the Canon RF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM and RF-S 18-150mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM lenses. The 24-105mm f/4 L was my favorite lens for a long time, as I gladly sacrificed a stop of aperture over a 24-70mm f/2.8 for that extra reach at the long end. That being said, at $1,299, the RF 24-105mm f/4 L is not cheap, and it is worth considering if you should drop that much money on a bulky full frame lens just to mount it on a more compact APS-C body. I was surprised by just how well the RF-S 18-150mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM performs, and with the extra focal length range at both ends and the significantly lower price, it looks like a real winner for Canon APS-C shooters. Check out the video above for Frost’s full thoughts on both lenses.
