Think Tank has just announced two brand-spanking new cross-body camera bags. Called the SpeedTop Crossbody series, the bags come in two different sizes and boast a number of new innovative features. Generally, cross-body bags are best for easy access and convenience.
They are perfect for quickly accessing your camera and a couple of lenses when you need to, for example, if you’re doing event and wedding photography. Think Tank knows this, which is why one of the best features of these bags is the silent magnetic lid that enables quick and quiet access to your gear. All one-handed and without the need to open a zip.
Don’t worry about security, however. The bags still fasten securely with a tuck-away latch which you can use for extra peace of mind. Extra internal pockets can be used for carrying other items, such as memory cards and other small items, also with a magnetic clasp.
The bags come in two sizes: the 10 and the 15. The smaller one will fit a camera body plus two stacked lenses, while the larger of them has additional space for items such as a speedlight or water bottle.
The material is durable and water-repellent nylon, as you might expect, and do look as though they have a considerable amount of padding to make sure that the straps will be comfortable, even at the end of a long day of shooting.
There is, however, one small interesting warning. Because these bags contain magnets, there is an advisory for anyone who has a pacemaker fitted. “If you have an implanted pacemaker or a cardioverter defibrillator,” reads the text, “please read the Magnet Advisory before you buy or use a SpeedTop™ bag.”
You can buy the SpeedTop 10 bag for $129.75, or the SpeedTop 15 bag for $149.75.
