I built my own PC based on an Asus TUF Z390-Plus “Gaming” motherboard. I am not a gamer, but gamer boards tend to be more robust and reliable than std.

Anyway, I’ve heard that the best USB ports are the one ON to the mbd itself (usually, they are on the rear of the PC case. The TUF mbd also has interfaces for the front and side USB ports provided by case manuf. These are connected by, say, U3G1 connectors. I’ve heard these can be slower and compromised ( add more noisy wiring to the ” total USB cable length”).

Any thoughts here?
